Vic: Two escape from Won Wron Prison
MELBOURNE, April 23 AAP - Two inmates escaped today from Won Wron prison, near Yarram,
south-east of Melbourne.
The two men were last seen at the prison about 1pm (AEST), but were detected missing
at a general muster of prisoners three hours later.
Police said one of the escapees is a 23-year-old Caucasian, 180cm tall, of medium build,
with green eyes and a fair complexion, wearing a white shirt and black trousers.
He was serving a sentence for handling and receiving stolen property.
The second man is 22 years old, Caucasian, 180cm tall, with brown hair, blue eyes and
a fair complexion.
It is not known what clothing he was wearing, police said.
He was serving a sentence for theft.
Police have set up road blocks in the area and warned that the men should not be approached.
A police spokesman said the Won Wron facility was not a high-security prison.
