Two airmen, including one from Saratoga, planned a practical joke that authorities didn't find funny have been charged with planting homemade explosives at a training area here.
"The devices did have the potential to hurt other people," FBI spokesman Paul Miller said.
Senior Airman Kenneth Trolenberg, 22, of Saratoga, and Airman James Baumb, 21, also of New York state (hometown unavailable), were released Monday on $50,000 personal surety bonds.
They had been indicted Friday on four counts each of manufacturing, possessing and placing of explosive devices in an attempt to destroy government property, Miller said. …
